How it works
The price per gram is what you pay for the bag divided by its weight. Times the food your dog eats in a day, it gives the cost per day; divided by the meals, the cost per meal.
cost a day = price ÷ bag weight × food a day cost a meal = cost a day ÷ meals
A month is 30.4 days (a year's 365 days over 12), and the bag lasts its weight divided by the food a day.
- Foods from our list fill in the brand's own feeding chart for your dog's weight, life stage and activity. The chart is a starting point: if you feed more or less, change the amount and the cost follows.
- Cups are measured, not weighed. For foods from our list we use the cup weight the brand's chart implies; for a label you enter, use the bag's figure or weigh a cup.
- Treats and toppers are not included, and prices change: use what you paid last.
